Overview
CoreTrace is the creator of award-winning whitelisting security product BOUNCER, acquired by Lumension in 2012. CoreTrace technology simplifies endpoint security by strictly allowing only known, approved processes to run on systems. The company regularly attended security-related events, including RSA Conference.
Challenge
CoreTrace’s frequent attendance at security events created a need for multiple sets of exhibition display panels with messaging suitable for different audiences. Presenters needed a graphical treatment that visually reinforced their speaking points on the theme of “clean systems.” Panels were expensive to produce relative to the available marketing budget and quickly showed wear due to damage sustained from frequent handling and packing.
Result
The company’s exhibition structures held three mounted panels that formed a continuous plane. My designs took advantage of panel breaks, allowing messaging changes to impact only one or two panels instead of all three. For larger show spaces, I devised a way to join two three-panel structures into a single six-panel wall by strategically oversizing specific panels to span the gap between display structures. This modular, flexible approach allowed a lot of variety for presenters while reducing production costs. Graphical treatments tended to be bright, emphasizing cognitive dimensions of “clean” and “pure” in harmony with whitelisting technology’s effect keeping endpoints clean. Unfortunately, presenters needed frequent encouragement to handle the panels with care due to the white background.
